A unique business property maintenance company has highlighted its fleet of special liveried vans as the reason for its latest success in attracting new landlords to sign up to a fixed-price property service.
One Call Home Assist, which offers a fixed-price, all-in-one home maintenance service for property owners in Edinburgh, has seen dozens of landlords sign up to the deal as a result of seeing its fleet of vehicles in the Capital.
The service, which was set up as a value-for-money alternative to maintenance contracts offered by companies such as British Gas and Homeserve, has already proved popular with landlords and property owners in Edinburgh and the Lothians since it was set up earlier this year.
The company has also recently expanded the service into Fife and Glasgow as a result of the huge wave of interest from landlords in Scotland.
Paul Greaves, managing director of One Call Home Assist, said: “We expected the service to prove popular with landlords and property owners in the Lothians, but we’ve been surprised by how many enquiries we’ve had from people who have just seen our vans in the city.
“Some of our staff have been approached in the street by people who have seen the vehicles and expressed an interest in what our service was. Other people have noted down the telephone number on the side of the vans and have phoned us up to get more information about who we are and what we do.
“It’s fantastic that we’re seeing more and more interest in the service and especially pleasing that our vans are proving such a draw with people in Edinburgh and beyond.”
One landlord who recently signed up to the One Call Home Assist service is Joseph Mbu, an investment administrator and semi-professional footballer with Cowdenbeath FC.
The 27-year-old, who plays at centre back for the Blue Brazil, signed up two of his properties in Edinburgh after seeing one of the firm’s vans as he was meeting with his team mates in the Capital.
He said: “I hadn’t heard about the company until I saw their branded van while I was waiting in Edinburgh with some of my football team. We were about to head up to a training session in Fife but I had a chat with the driver and found out a bit more about what the service was all about.
“It sounded like a great deal for landlords and I eventually signed up two properties that I rent out in Edinburgh. Because I work during the day and have my football career as well, it doesn’t give me much time to be able to deal with any problems that my tenants tell me about.
“The good thing about this service is that it takes all of that hassle away from me and allows me to get on with my work. I just have to give my tenants the number for the firm and if anything goes wrong, they can phone up the guys from One Call Home Assist and they will deal with the problem – regardless of how big or small it is.
“I’ve been very impressed by their service and I am now considering buying another contract for my own home.”
One Call Home Assist was launched in March as a value-for-money rival to expensive maintenance contracts offered by energy suppliers such as British Gas and Homeserve. With the contract, all emergency repair work to electrical, plumbing and heating systems are covered, as well as general maintenance issues. The contracts also cover all PAT and gas safety testing.
The service offers a range of fixed prices contracts depending on size of the property and type of maintenance cover required – with an all-in contract for a one-bed flat costing £32.99 a month (inc VAT). All the work is carried out by One Call Home Assist’s expert in-house contractor teams who operate on a round the clock basis from their base in Edinburgh.
One Call Home Assist has been launched by Edinburgh-based One Call Trade Services, one of Scotland’s leading all trades contractors providing insurance repairs, maintenance and renovations to clients throughout the UK.
